hi me and my gd have been together for 6 yrs and love each other very much.Ive decided to ask her to marry me. I've got the ring and everything i just don't know how to say it and at what time and where to do it. Neither of us are the type for going on romantic candle lit dinner things and i wanted it to be a surprise so i thought the getting down on one knee might be abit obvious-i want it to come out of the blue to her and make it really special and nice any tips?

thor agony auntme and my ex wife, before i proposed to her. one night we layed in bed bored. she had about 10 packets of love hearts sweets, you know the ones with words on them like kiss me love me. we where sat eating them. what ever they said we had to do but we would put the sweet somewhere then eat it from there if you know what i mean :). we would open all of the packets and tip them into a box and pick them out without looking. after a few goes guess which one i picked out. one that said marry me :). i'm sure she planted that there, only kidding. anyway i just turned round to her and asked her will you marry me. she smiled and said yes. and months later we did. we always talked about that night. to me it felt romantic. you just need to use imagination. the time will come when it feels right to say it.

good luck

it all depends on how you would like to propose, it doesnt have to be in a restaurant or anywhere with an audience. Your home when your both alone with some nice music in the background is nice. Or wait for a special accation like valentines day, christmas or her birthday. Or maybe on a nice warm sunny day walk along the beach and propose there. There are so many diffrent ways and places to propose. I am sure you will find the right way which suits you.

Good luck!

(Big smile) I tend to agree with T_T. I made my proposal on the bank of a mountain lake. We had gone up there "for the scenery" (lol). I had just made a campfire and we were sitting there watching it grow. But, if you are an urbanite, you might just try a quiet spot somewhere...like a park, or maybe just wherever you happen to be that is comfortable...her place or yours...sitting on the sofa, whatever. (I'm not good at this thing). Just use your best judgement. Best wishes! Tom

if you guys are at all into hiking, maybe you could hike up to the top of a mountain where there is a awsome view and propose up there?
