Fatherly Advice agony auntI hate the Body Mass Index. I feel that it really isn't a good indicator of health. But, here where we respond "sight unseen" I use it as a rough estimating tool. The original Posters BMI is 26 making her overweight, but at 57 kg she would be in the normal range. That is only 3 kg or 5% of he total body mass. So a very reasonable weight loss goal for an adult. at her age there is still a possibility that she will grow out of it.

By the way I like curvy women.

witch-fire agony auntI'm 80.5 kg. You are not fat and neither am I. Boys don't care about that stuff to be- the nice ones anyway. I thought the same as you for years but now i'm getting noticed for my personality. So forget about your weight and concentrate on the beatiful girl inside you wanting to get out.

A female reader, obsticalfree United States +, writes (28 September 2009):

Nope despite the fact that the media shows women of size 0 now as 'perfect' most people don't really want someone with a body like that at all. Incidentally it is a size created in the past decade as no such small size for a women had previously existed and prior super models are flabbergasted that such a measurement is now something that young people believe they should achieve as they themselves were no where near that even in their prime. Studies indicate that men are attracted to women who are healthy and active and with a porportional body lots of men love curvy women . SO you don't have a thing to worry about . When you are ready and older hopefully you will be able to attract boyfriends.

To the OP -- CaringGuy's right on the money with his advice.

For those not familiar with the metric system, she's a smidge under 5' and 132 lbs.

A male reader, CaringGuy United Kingdom +, writes (28 September 2009):

You are far too young to be worrying about boyfriends. You should be happy for yourself, not anyone else. If you're worried about your weight, go to your doctor and have yourself checked out. But please don't worry about boyfriends at this moment. Be happy with yourself.
