After 2 days and 100 texts, why did he start ignoring me?

Ok, So I'm Sixteen, I have never kissed a guy and I am really embarrassed about this. I have had this one particular crush for about a year now. About two weeks ago he told me he liked me and I admitted to liking him. I thought we were going to start something. But about two days and over 100 text messages he starts to ignore me. I don't get it. Now we are basically acting like nothing happened at all. The first few days were awkward after everything with us was reveled. Now after two weeks we are back to how it was before everything was said. I think I gave off the wrong impression when this all happened.Maybe i was too pushy who knows. Its just weird that hes ignoring the whole thing. And now has been after another girl. I talked to his best friend and even he doesn't understand what hes doing and thinks that hes just desperate .I liked him a lot and we were good friends but know I don't know if I should forget about him as crush and act like nothing happened either or still have a crush on him and such. So basically the question is keep or forget about him as potential boyfriend?
