Hi,

In the UK ANY sex is illeag under the age of 16

You can date, but if he touches you sexually, and you get caught, he will end up on the Sex offenders Database for life. So if you have sex with him..or any one complains to the police...be prepared.

I would suggest that you find someone of a similar age to you...sorry I know that sounds boring, but better safe than sorry!

Kissing, holding hands, a little bit touching without it going to far. Leave the rest for when you're older :)

Miamine agony auntSigh.. we just changed our laws, so it gets totally confusing that I don't even know what's allowed now.. we are all in a state of confusion.

Safe to say, you can hold hands. Always have a chaperone and that will keep you and him safe. (stuff not even sure about holding hands, that could be classed as grooming)

The government messed about with the sex laws so nobody knows what they are doing. I've read the new Sex Offences Act from cover to cover and I'm still bloody confused.

Here, phone these people, they should be the experts. *Childline... http://www.childline.org.uk Tel: 0800 1111 (free to call and totally confidential)

dirtball agony auntHey, fellow Americans, in Great Britain (where the OP's flag says she's from) the legal age of conscent is 16. That makes him legal and her illegal.

RAINORFIRE, I don't know where you heard about this supposed 3 year apart rule, but I guarantee you that is not the case in the US. 18 means 18. My father was a probation officer for 20 years, and while a judge may not make an example out of someone who has sex with someone close to the age of conscent, it doesn't make it any less illegal. Your advice to check into the local laws is very good though.

actually, obviously in the uk two consenting adults counts as two people above the age of 16..

my advice to you would be do whatever you feel comfortable with but dont be pushed to have sex. i lost my virginity at 14 to a guy of 16. do i regret it? not particularly.. only that it wasnt with someone i cared more about. you catch my drift. :) good luck x

dirtball agony auntGo on dates with a chaperone. Never be alone together.

Seriously, you can date, just be careful. Do not have sex until you are of legal age. Sex includes sexual contact. Kissing is probably the extent I would think safe in terms of the law. Then again, I'm not a lawyer, but oral sex is still sex. If you can get a disease, it counts in my book.
