There's not really any point asking if he wants you to be there, when you can't. I doubt the question would scare him though. But I'm sure he'd be fine if you said stuff like "I wish I could be there with you".

A. 16 December 2008: That's so sweet! I'm a stationary lover my self, and both those pens are nice, but have you though about maybe a more traditional ink pen rather than a ballpoint? That could make it even more special!
