However, i am planning to skip my period this month. If i immediately continue on my new set of pills what are the issues that might come up? Is it advisable? Thank you.

Yes it is not a problem at all. I have spoken to my doctor about it many times. She basically said that you can do it 3 months in a row lets lets, and then get your period. She explained to me that it does not matter if you don't get your period. Many doctors advise their patients who have bad cramps to take the pill all the time.
Maybe you should talk to your pharmacist.

Hi Anon
I used to do that a fair bit when I was on the pill and never had any bad effects from it. I understand it does no harm, many people do it if they don't want their period on special occasions/holidays.
Maybe check out something like the NHS Direct site (www.nhsdirect.com) if you're still unsure, or the leaflets within the box of pills, but think you're absolutely fine.
