It's a handy living arrangement because she lives close to the university I attend and she's got space because she's single. I'm 19 and she's 24. I've always been a social butterfly and have been dating on and off. She's always been heavily into sports, travelling and learning. She has never had a real boyfriend and therefore she's still a virgin. The other night we were talking and the subject came up. I lost my virginity last year so it's kinda hard for me to imagine holding onto it for as long as she has. The thing is, she is much prettier than me and that's saying something because I'm pretty content with my looks. She's model pretty. The thing is, she is completely oblivious to this. She doesn't fess around with makeup like I do and she confessed she's worried guys will be turned off with her being a virgin. Of course I assured her she was being ridiculous and that guys would consider themselves lucky to have her. but I'm really not the right person to ask. So guys, would you be turned off by a 24-year old virgin? Don't put in what you think my sister wants to hear, but be honest.

Nah, guys actually don't mind virgins, I myself am still a virgin, at age 18 :/ I do feel embarresed about it and not many people know, but I told a guy I know once, and he said that its very respectful when a girl still has her virginity and waits to loose it to someone who is worth it. Also I've heard that guys like to be the one to take a girls virginity because it makes them feel "powerful". If your sister is model pretty like you say, then she could have easily lost it to some random one night stand, but she didnt, and a lot of guys will find that respectful. It took me a long time to learn this, times now- you feel as if if you still have your virginity your a looser, but its not true at all :) Hope this helps :)

reader, anonymous, writes (31 July 2011): NO WAY!!!! Girl virgins are SO RARE to find these days, it's as if God stopped making them or something. Your sister should be proud especially since she's "model pretty" that makes it TRIPLE REAR.
I'm a virgin and I'm 21 I can't think of any guy who would be turned off by a girl virgin no matter her age unless they're gay, if anything, guys like virgins, love them even, for some reason it gives them a feeling of accomplishment or something plus it indicates that she is a "good girl" and doesn't mess around with other guys, so she's...."pure" or "uncorrupted".
As a guy many girls would be turned off by me for some reason, probably because they think I can't please them or something, God only knows, even though many people classify me as "model handsome" too. But it's definitely NOT the same for girls. (Girls might tease her, maybe, but definitely not guys) As far as I know, ALL GUYS LIKE VIRGINS. That doesn't mean she should be pressured to lose it. Some guys however only want virgins to brag to their friends that they took someone's virginity or because of her...."tightness" and especially because it would be easier to persuade her to do certain things with him in the bedroom, since she's inexperienced. If she's wants to lose it when she's 40 then so be it, if she wants to lose it now, I highly doubt it will be a problem.

 It will be a great turn on for a lot of guys. There really is no problem here for her. It is very special to date guys or girls that are virgins. So, it is not a turn off.
