A male United States age 30-35, anonymous writes:

I just broke up with my girlfriend of three years and now i fell all alone. I don't have that many friends except for her and a group of people that we used to hang out with together. She continues to hang out with that group but i feel awkward and out of place if I am there. I fell so alone; there is no one here for me I don't know what to do

A male reader, anonymous, writes (4 December 2009):

You need to find new friends and talk to new girls. Throw all her stuff away so you aren't reminded of her. This will enable you to forget about her eventually.

mnman3487 agony auntCan you not stand one another's company whatsoever? If you have been hanging out with this group for three years then surely you must've formed a personal bond with some of them. If you guys could even stand being around each other as friends then I recommend you try it. If it's entirely not possible, it may be time to do some networking. Join a club or gym, do something that you find interesting that other people will participate in. You're bound to meet some people you get along with.
