Yes he can get it.you both need to get treated at the same time otherwise you pass the infection to each other like hot potato ie you get cured he passes it to you, after he gets treated you pass it to him as well,etc.

BTW yeast is in our bodies all the time.
thrush is yeast in the mouth (and you can get it from oral sex)
