Will only one emergency contraceptive pill have the right effect, as I've lost the second one?!

Question - (7 April 2008) 2 Answers - (Newest, 8 April 2008)
A female Zimbabwe age 30-35, anonymous writes:

I am 15

I have a urgent question about the emergency contraceptive pill.

3 nights ago I had unprotected sex and I don't think the guy came/ ejaculated.

Just to be safe the next morning approx. 8 hours later I bought an emergency contraceptive brand that came with two small white pills.

It told me to take one tablet immediatley and the other 12 hours later.

I took the first one immediatley but lost the other pill during the day.

I am expecting my period in about a week. Yesterday evening I had a aching pain in my lower right abdomen. I asked my mum what it could be and she said maybe pre-period pains.

Do these pains occur when one falls pregnant???

What effect will only taking one pill have?!

Is it possible for me to fall pregnant?

Please help I am so confused!

Thanks

xx

quarky agony auntHi there!

I know things must be very scary for you right now.

You really must see a Doctor or a clinic that you can go to in confidence-is there an older friend, aunt, teacher that you can speak to about this? Perhaps they can go with you?

You may be worrying about nothing-the only way to put your mind at rest is to see a professional.

Hope everything works out OK for you x

You should have gone straight back to the doctor and got another pill.

I am not a doctor so I can't say one way or the other if you are safe or not. You sound like you have a good chance of not being pregnant... but then life sucks so who knows.

Go and see someone like a nurse or a doctor and ask them. In the mean time start hoping and cross your fingers.

What were you doing having unprotected sex so young? I hope this scared you into always using protection - or better still not having sex again for a long time.

The pains could be anything as you are so young - they could be period pains, they could be the terror of being pregnant!

Talk to a doctor and learn from your mistakes.

Good Luck!! xx
