A female India age 41-50, anonymous writes:

i married against my parents will and they have not accepted me till date. even after 4 years they are depressed about my marrige and their health is depleating.i have tried all the things to make them accept me but in vain. What should i do to make them happy and take them out of the shock stage?

I am not terribly familiar with familial customs in your country, but I believe the advice here is going to be effective.

You need to settle in to your marriage and your relationship with your parents. You have to move past the hostility even if they will not. Doing so will make them realize that you are not changing, and that they can either accept the marriage or choose to be the unhappy ones.
