I am worried, though, because I have recently lost my virginity, and I am sure the doctor will know. Mostly, I'm concerned that my mother will find out. Is there confidentiality, even though I am under 18?

Hiya x
Your gynecologist will be able to tell that you have lost your virginity, because there trained to notice, but if you ask info to be confidential, its their job to obey that, your mum wont be told unless you give permission.
Good luck, & dont be worried!

Since you are 17, what goes on in the examing room is between you and the doc. Just make sure your mom don't go in with you!! The doctor knows that girls your age engage in sex...and they don't want it broadcast to their parents! At Planned Parenthood, when a 16-year old comes in for birth control, they don't tell their parents.
So don't worry about your mom finding out that you lost your virginity. Just tell your doctor you want him/her to keep it quiet about it.
Hugs!

Any information about your health must be kept confidential regardless of your age, although some doctors are able to intervene in certain situations before you turn 16 and involve your parents. Just so you know though, he/she might ask you if you're sexually active before you have the examination so don't take your mum along if you're not comfortable admitting anything with her there.

if you are over the age of 17 and you request the doctor keep this information, he MUST by law....unless you are suicidal, mentally infirm, or the information is of a illegal nature.
