 If you guys text and IM each other all the time i don't see how keeping in touch is a problem. Two weeks really isn't that long. You should try telling him how you feel... say something like "hey, I'm really glad we've gotten closer over the last few days, you're not going to forget me when you're away are you?" then go from there according to his answer. He may have the same thoughts about you. So tell him how you're feeling.
