Hi,

My post will probably seem odd but here goes...

I have been at my current job for about 4 months and there's this 1 girl, Claire who befriended me recently. It all started because she found out I was Italian and said she was too, she wanted to know if we had any friends in common. She went on about how her mums English and her dad Italian and all her family in Italy etc... So it seems all normal.... Until I found out she isn't actually Italian! Her parents are English, she has no Italian relatives! Look wise she is dark haired and skin but i've been told she dyes her hair and uses subbed to make her look Italian. She went to school with lots of Italian people and has hundred of Italian friends and she consides herself 1.

I did ask her about it and she just laughed saying it's only a bit of fun!

I know it's not a big deal and there are worse things in life but does this not seem a bit odd?

She's trying too hard to fit in and be friends. Try not to be too hard on her though, it sounds like she just thinks she has be someone else in order for people to like her.

Denise32 agony auntYes, if you like her, I wouldn't worry about it. The only red flag would be if it turns out that she is making up stories about more important things......

Sometimes people do stupid things to fit in. I think she wanted to befriend you and fit in, so made this stupid lie up. I don't think it's anything to worry about.
