So me and this guy I'm "talking" to and have been for 3 months, go to diiferent schools. They are in the same city and county and stuff just diffrent highschools. Well we ate in a sexual relationship but that not important really. I have heard about him talking to

other girl and have seen texts from her and they aren't bad, just usual hey, what's up, and stuff. But on facebook (which I have the password to) he told her he missed texting her. She

lives in a diffrent state and junk. He has admitted talking through texts and on the phone but he says he doesn't like her and doesn't know her, what should I do?

Why would my guy get took to jail if our parents found out that we had sex? I mean I'm 14 and he's 16?

A female reader, k_c100 United Kingdom +, writes (27 October 2010):

k_c100 agony auntOk well the reason why he would get into trouble with the authorities (not necessarily jail) is because if he had sex with you it would be statutory rape - you are a minor therefore in the eyes of the law you cannot consent to having sex, so whoever has sex with you has "forced" you and it is statutory rape. I dont know what the age of consent is where you live, but most of the US states is 18 so your boyfriend will probably still be a minor, so he wouldnt get into as much trouble as he would if he is over the age of consent himself.

If your parents found out and chose to tell the police then they would probably give him a warning and it would go on his criminal record, but the chances of him going to jail aged 16 are pretty slim (unless the age of consent is 16 in your state in which case he could get into much more trouble). He would go to a young offenders unit rather than jail - they tend not to send anyone under the age of 18 to proper jails, it is just a youth correction unit or something like that.

But either way - it is illegal for you to have sex and that is the main thing to keep in mind. You are only 14 and that is very very young to be having sex - I really hope you are using contraception and are not foolish enough to get pregnant or an STD aged 14!

As for your other question, well this guy is clearly lying to you (and if he is the same guy you are thinking about having sex with, then DONT DO IT!) - he obviously knows who she is because he texts her and messages her on Facebook. I bet he thinks he can hide this from you because he is at a different school therefore you will never know about the other girl he is talking to. You cant be certain if he "likes" her in that way or not, but the fact that he is texting and calling her on the phone is a pretty good indication that he likes her. No guy spends his time chatting on the phone (men dont do this unless they like a person!) so I would just be very careful with this guy - I think he is playing both of you, and I bet this other girl doesnt know about you!

I hope this helps and good luck!
