I tried to tell this married guy that we cannot be friends anymore because I had feelings for him and he for me and I am married 2 so that was the best thing to do.He talked me out of it and told me that we need eachothers friendship and that we will be ok since we don't see echother alot. Now he is ignoring me, does not reply to my texts or phonecalls. I stopped contacting him but it is bugging me. Why would he beg me to remain friends just to ignore me?

Just let it go - you dodged a bullet this time. Pay more attention to your husband and your marriage unless you don't want either.

Good for you. He doesn't want to be your burden anymore. He saw your point, that this relationship is going nowhere. You went from why, how much time, see or not see, to nothing, just emptiness. Let this illusion disperse and return to its own space and this free energy to work on your own marriage.
