Why is she contacting me again?

Question - (11 January 2010) 2 Answers - (Newest, 12 January 2010)
A male United States age 41-50, anonymous writes:

I told my female friend I shouldn't talk to her anymore because the closeness of our relationship was disrespectful to my girlfriend. She knew I had had feelings for her and seemed fine with it. She had had feelings for me at one point too. She went off to date a guy. Now, two weeks later, she has emailed me as if nothing has happened. Her long email didn't mention the guy she had been dating or the fact that I said I wasn't going to contact her anymore. Why is she contacting me like this?

The Realist agony auntShe wants to see if she can get something out of you. I agree, say good bye nicely but if it continues you do not owe this girl any sort of reply. She'll get the message eventually.

She obviously wants more than friendship with you. Just reply her email and tell her in the kindest way possible that this is the last time you are emailing her because like you said, your gf isn't comfortable. Wish her well in her life.
