writes: ok i am getting so annoyed with my sister. i have been with my bf for nine months now and just starting a week ago my sister(she is my twin) keeps saying "your bf is ugly" "he is fat" "he has big ears" and none of those are true mostly the "fat" one he has abs! but i have to admit he does have big ears but still she is annoying me she knows i love him to death so i dont know why she keeps saying this stuff over and over. She is being really immature because she knows i dont like it when people say bad things about my bf. what can i do? i have tried to talk to her but she wont listen!

reader, anonymous, writes (29 May 2006): Maybe shes abit jealous at the momment espically if shes not in a relationship or if she is it is not going to well right now, and she probably wants the love and effection with someone which you and your boyfriend obviously share. Just be patient with her and show her you care and spend sometime with her as she could be feeling abit negelected espically if your spending alot of time with your boyfriend. Be patient and understanding and it will work out fine.x

 I think it sounds like she is jealous.
I can understand that you are upset when you have tried to talk to her and explain how you feel. That is annoying.
I would suggest just ignoring her when she says these silly things. Don't let her get to you or get upset. Just say "that's your opinion" and leave her be.
If you get angry or upset, she will think she has won a little victory so don't let her.
Hopefully if you give no reaction, she will become bored with the teasing and leave you alone.

 sisters will be sisters, i feel like i could kill mine sometimes but we still do anything for them right? she thinks she's being funny but she's not so you need to sit her down and tell her it's hurtful and trust me as much as we all like to wined up are sib's we all listen when it counts she should and will hopefully understand. it is jealousy but not in the way you think just in the sence that your with him and not her, and she also probably hasn't got anyone, let her know your still her sister. anyway i'd much rather her say he's ugly then 'cor blimy he's fit i'd like a peice of him' what do you think?

 I think its just a case of jealousy. She cant stand the thought you have a man and are in love, when she isnt. Im sure over time it will fade over time if you ignore her and dont rise to it. Once she finds herself a boyfriend she will change. I know its annoying and shes only doing it for that reason. I have a sister that used to be like that all the time when we were younger, but she soon good fed she realised it didnt get her anywhere. Just let her get on with it and she will in the end she its not having an effect and stop.
