Why is my period irregular all the sudden?

Ok this may seem a bit odd, but i came on my period today, but its only been two weeks since my last one. Is this normal? I've been regular for ages now, why has it done this? i cant think of anything that could have changed my cycle (other than heatwave and missing my best friends who were away), im really confused, has this happened to anyone else? thanks :)
