Why is it guys are more attracted to me when I'm not all dressed up?

A female United Kingdom age 36-40, *arker writes:

I've noticed that when I try to look and dress cute, guys won't pay attention to me. But when I'm dressed down and not really lookin to meet anyone, guys will flirt with me.

Like yesterday, a college student my age was trying to give ppl free quotes on decks, fences things like that. And when I opened the door, he looked me in the eyes( *sighs* I was gifted with the big chest)and smiled. Later he came back and we talked while he played with my little sister, laughed the whole time, but he had to get back to work.

I knew he liked me and I knew I liked him, but I didn't make any attempts to give him my number (I tend to shy away from the guys that like me and lust after the ones who don't know I exist).

Something happened today, but different guy. Why do I get guys when I'm not paying attention and dressed like a boy, then when I do pay attention and dressed like a girly girl?

If its any consolation I get the same attention when i'm not dressed up or particularly look good! Like for instance I went out the house without make-up and tied my hair back messily - because I was in a rush! And along the way I saw this builder and he couldn't take his eyes off me... I was in total disbelief that he'd like the sight of me and in addition to that I got a few whistles and car beeps! I was like whoaaa.

Yeah, I agree with 'TasteofIndia' here. If guys feel like you're all dressed up, then they maybe put themselves down and don't feel like they can approach you. But if you're just dressing casual, you're more approachable and seem more friendly perhaps. But you can't just shy away from guys like that honey! Try to relax more and don't be afraid of giving them your number if you really feel like you're connecting.

Good luck :]

LazyGuy agony auntMight you behave differently when you are dressed down? Not just look more down to earth but behave like it?

Also lots of men like the "natural" look a lot more.

Is this a bad thing? Basically it means you can attract more men with less work.

BigSis agony auntParker, I agree with India, guys feel more comfortable with a more natural looking girl, when you're all tottied up it makes them feel that they're probably not up to your standards.

Be your natural self, relax and accept their flirting.

I would.

: )

Have fun!!

TasteofIndia agony auntMaybe you appear more down to earth, more approachable. A super hot, decked out chiquita is amazing to look at, but intimidating to talk to. When you're dressed down, guys probably feel a little more comfortable.

Hey, and next time you find a honey who you're connecting with, don't shy away!! Get that number, girl!

Alright, enjoy sweetness...

xx India
