Why don't they want to be my friend any more?

A female United States age 30-35, *indingmyself writes:

I'm having a little bit of trouble with my friends.

I recently began attending church after being brought up in a non religious household. And now, the friends I went to church with don't want me to go with them anymore. I'm not sure what I did wrong, but they were the only way I could attend church. I just have no idea what to do. I still want to go to church, but I have no other way.

A female reader, bqagirl2692 United States +, writes (2 December 2007):

bqagirl2692 agony auntI admire the fact the you love attending church. There arent that many people who do. Well these so called "FRIENDS" of yours arent really your friends after all. You can find better friends that wont bail on you and leave you behind. Try to convince your family about attending church at least once to see how it makes them feel. Tell them the good things about attending church. Ask them to do you a favor by taking you if they still disagree on attending themselves. About those friends of yours, dont waste your time on people who bail on you for no reason at all. And even if there were a reason for them to be upset with you, a true friend never leaves a friend behind. You deserve better sweetie. Dont give up on convincing your family. Good luck!
