Question - (3 February 2011) 1 Answers - (Newest, 3 February 2011)
A female United States age 41-50, anonymous writes:

Hi

I am friends with my ex-bf and we talk almost daily. We talk normal stuff, not anything sexual. But lately i feel like he is trying to keep me on the hook, he used to say like he loves to talk to me daily, i am the only one who understands him and stuff like that.

When i asked him whether he is trying to be my bf again, he said he thinks of me as just friend. Whenever he is in drunken state he tells me that he loves me but when i ask him about that when he is sober, he always refuses to talk about it and says he never really rememeber it.

I really dont understand what is happening here. Why people say something when they are drunk and refuse saying the same thing when they are sober. Please help me.

The Realist agony auntI beleive that what you say when you are drunk are overexaggerations of what you truely want to say. In other words I think that he meant it but doesn't have the courage or has reasons that aren't there when he is drunk for saying that he does or doesn't want to be with you.
