writes:Hi, I'm just a little confused about something. I find that sometimes guys will stare at me or when there is a group of guys they will stare at me, and there sometimes smiling and talking. And when I walk past I hear laughing. Does this mean they think I'm weird looking or something or I'm ugly? I'm very confused because they will stare but not say anything to me. I'm a healthy person, not overweight. I'm not the world's best looking girl as I'm pale and have other minor problems but probably only things I would notice, but when they do that does it mean they think I'm ugly or something? I'm starting to become paranoid.

reader, anonymous, writes (11 March 2006): They're probably not even laughing at you. It's probably just coincidence that they laugh when you walk past, or if they do laugh at you, it probably means that they fancy you!

 This is all in your mind. I sometimes walk round thinking that everyone is laughing at me because I have a booger hanging off my nose or something... But it's just your mind playing tricks.
If you ever start doing drink or drugs you can say hello to this kind of feeling every day, the day after.

 I think that you are becoming slightly paranoid, they are just a group of blokes as hopeful says.
They are probably thinking how sexy you look.
Men stare at me, and believe me I am nothing to stare at, but if im out on the street and pass a group of blokes they do look and I rather enjoy this as it is better to be noticed than not.
So enjoy the attention, no one is laughing at you, they are just admiring you.

 Maybe they are indulging in some typical guy talk with each other.
Remember how if you are with a group of girlfriends and you see an attractive guy, the girls all look then giggle with each other.
I would take it as a compliment and not be too paranoid about it.
