Why couldn't I just be happy to have someone in my life?

Question - (10 September 2010) 1 Answers - (Newest, 19 October 2010)
A female Afghanistan age 41-50, anonymous writes:

All my life I've run away from relationships only to bounce back into them. I ran away from home at 17 to be with a man who ignored me. I ran away after a traumatic event with my then husband to the Army. I have been running ever since but I hurt people along the way. I hooked up with a man to break up with a woman- she was a little psycho truthfully but she was the first woman I came to love. Another found me and we had a great time together up until we were seperated by the service- I ran away into the past to get away from her...we've been together and apart so many times that I no longer know where we stand. Why couldn't I just be happy to have someone in my life even though we were never together (all long distance)?

There are many many reasons why relationships don't work. You need to not blame yourself for past failures, and work towards being complete as an individual. As you get closer to that goal, special people tend to fall into your lap.
