If you get this regularly then it IS Tinnitus. It's harmless but can be very annoying. Some people experience a mild ringing noise, whereas others are troubled by loud, high pitched noises and this can occur in one ear or two. The doctor will try syringing your ears to see if it helps, failing that he should put you in touch with an ear specialist who will do more tests to confirm Tinnitus. Unfortunately there is no cure for tinnitus although ginkho (herbal remedy) can alleviate it somewhat.

It could be. I hear a ringing if I'm really tired or stressed. But it does go away. I would go and get it checked out if you are really concerned.

Its not a bug, ive had it before, you need to have it checked out and the doctor will tell you to go and get your ears syringed. Its probably a blockage of ear wax further down in your ears.
