writes: hiya any help on what to do next ive got to get out of this relationship i will start from the beginning, my girlfriend and her son (not mine) moved into my house about two years ago all seemed great she did not pay for any bills as said she had no money and just had part time job,we then decided to get married this year 2007 it was around may time and she started to go out alot on the week ends coming in late 3,4,or 5 aclock i tryed to stop her from doing it every week but she said it was just a blow out before the wedding . ok it should stop when we get married it has not and she stops round a friends house on saturdays nights now we got married in october and i feel ive mad a big mistake she has just brought a new £11000 pound car and i feel a mug . ive got to end this relationship can i ? will i lose my house can i kick her out ?who do i see to end this ive been married three months so long !

I agree with the last poster. from the start it sounds like she is just using you. go see a lawyer as soon as you can, don't think twice about it.

Well, as always, I would recommend counseling before any kind of divorce process, but if that's not an option, you'd have to find out the divorce laws in your country. I know here in the US, once you get married, unless a prenup is signed, everything becomes jointly owned, so your debt would also become her debt and vice versa. The same goes for your possessions.
I'd seek the advice of an attorney. I know you can get a marriage annulled, but not sure what the requirements for that are in your area.
