well yes, the blood and urine tests you did were easily too early to show up enough HCG. If your period is late, then can't you just use one of those sensitive tests from the pharmacy? I'm not sure I understand where the vaginal exam bit comes in - have you had one??

No! A vaginal exam can only tell you the position of your cervix (opened or closed) and it's relative location (high or low). During pregnancy, your cervix is high and closed. This alone, however, is NOT a reliable predictor of pregnancy. The pregnancy hormone, hCG, is produced in the blood stream as early as 8-10 days post ovulation, or a few days before your expected period. The blood test, therefore, is the best predictor of pregnancy when your early (i.e. less than 6 weeks pregnant). After that, a vaginal ultrasound, can visualize the gestational sac, yolk sac and heartbeat.

I think it would be weird if there was enough of a pregnancy to find in an internal exam, but no positive blood and urine results. Weird, but not impossible. Usually the blood test is the most accurate, which is why doctors do that rather than an internal. I am 9 mths pregnant and nobody has given me an internal the whole time.

id say if blood work says your not then you probably are not, although it is possible to be it is unlikely, just take it easy wait for a missed period and then test again, if you have already done this missed a period and it hasnt come, your body ,might not be making enough hormones, so see a consultant about it.
