It sends the wrong message. the other suggestions are really good here, you can take her somewhere nice and not too expensive. It might even be okay just to get something to share at the movie, I think that would be fine for a first date. Also, if you go to a later movie (8pm or something) you wont have to worry about dinner.

Gosh if you really have so many questions about this date, perhaps put them in 1 big question and then you will get more answers?
Definitely dont take her to McDonalds, that is not a good start! If the £50 is for the full date (including cinema) then take off £15 for cinema (might be less if you're students but £15 to be safe) then you have £35 to play with. For that money you can definitely get to Pizza Express and have 2 pizzas and 2 soft drinks for that, or maybe Nandos, or a cafe/pub place if there are any around. Even a Wetherspoons would be better than McDonalds. Places like Cafe Rouge, Bella Itallia etc normally are located around cinemas and these are reasonably priced. As long as you dont have starters, desserts or alcohol then you should be fine with your budget.
As per your other question, if you dont buy her flowers that will save you £10 so you can add that towards the cost of the evening.
Good luck!

If your on a budget lots of pubs offer a selection of cheap and nice dishes, typically you can get two meals for £10 - £12 and in my experience there always nice.Tbh I'm in the same situation as you, money is low and I have just started seeing this girl.Good luck and I hope it goes well for you.
