They had some others that cost £20 that looked nice but I couldn't afford that. This is an emergency. What can I do for Valentines day now - it's only a matter of a few hours away? (I live in the UK!)

There's no reason a V-day gift has to be flowers. Nice chocolates work well. Or jewellery (a necklace with a small heart on it? I would have loved that when I was 15!)

write little notes on mirrors and post it notes around the house for her to read when she wakes up,
make some break fast for her and while she is eating her fill, you can run to the flower store or tescos (as they deliver each day) and by her a bunch, even a 99p bunch says you love her,

I hear that Lidl or Aldi (can't remember which sorry) is doing 12 red roses for 5 pounds. Or try buying a single red rose and some chocolates. xx

If you want to be hardcore, go and queue up outside the flower shop in the morning...
