I originally planned to propose to her on valentine's day in the same Italian restaurant we had our first date. I have the ring and I have made arrangement at the restaurant. Now we are going to Paris for a long weekend in 2 weeks time and I am thinking it is a better place to propose. We know we want to be together but she has no idea of when I will propose. Either of the two will be a big suprise, but which one is better, more romantic? The more opinions I get from male and female, the better for me to decide. Thank you all. Hmmm....
I would probably pick Paris. Look for a spot near Notre Dame Cathedral (I believe there is a walking path there) and buy yourself a nice hot chocolate. Hide the ring in the whipped cream and ask her to stir it with a spoon. When she finds it, celebrate all evening long if she accepts!! (Think of a night of dancing and roses... real champagne...and a really nice hotel. Romance her... she is your new bride...this is a once in a lifetime event!)
As for the Italian restaurant, in your shoes, ducky, I'd send out invitations to friends and family and announce your engagement there instead. She'll get to show off her ring and you'll get the pleasure of being congratulated by all near and dear...don't be afraid of doing any of this and be bold! As they say in France, vive l'amour!

Being proposed to in paris is ever girls dream, my husband proposed to me at the top of the eiffel tower. he booked it for an hour and we sat right at the top it was so romantic. Good luck and all my love ...x

So....pick a unique day and create your own holiday. Also....if the relationship ever goes sour....you don't have to be reminded of it for the rest of your life.

i agree with everything that the anonymous person said. She may be expecting it on valentine's therefore, you might want to think more about Paris; both are great ideas though.hope i could help and congrats!!

Even though the valentines day restaurant scenario would be so magical too, but the Paris thing is something both of you have never experienced. So it would be a sign of growth, new experiences and new things to come. BUT if she is a really sentimental type of girl who likes tradition and the like, then maybe she would prefer valentines day at the restaurant you both met at. And CONGRATULATIONS!!

Good luck and congratulations!!
