reader, anonymous, writes (12 January 2011): As you say that, I have seen it happen but never met a woman who is like that myself. Its been the opposite,even helped if i had a bad month. I notice your flag as nigerian. I know people from there and also ghana who have said the same. I dont know enough to say if its a cultural difference or not,but do believe its more likely you have met a few bad ones. Maybe when you meet another dont make out you have any money,you are poor.. If she still shows interest in you then she isnt about money,its you she wants. If they want money they wont be interested if they think you are poor.

Some men are lazy, and their poverty is their fault. I've seen plenty of men here who have been mooching off their significant other for years. While she's working, he's playing video games and smoking pot. When she comes home, he expects her to make him dinner and have sex with him...
Not all situations are equal, just like not all people will ditch out in the hard times.

 Not all women do that, if a woman truely loved you she would stick by you through the hard times as well, you just need to find the right girl and not someone who is just with you for money, but some one who loves you no matter how rich or poor you are.
