writes: Alright so on September 25th, 2008 i had sex with one of my friends. He had a girlfriend and we still had sex anyway. ( i now dumb move, dont tell me about it.) he wanted to have sex with me because he was a virgin and so was i and he didnt want to suck so horribly for his girlfriend, who was not a virgin. Now i am not sure my problem has anything to do with that, but i am afraid to talk to my mom about it. I am 14, and ever since then when i go pee, not ever time but about 90% of the time, when i go pee i pee out a thick goop almost. Its kind of like when you have a stuffy nose and you blow ur nose and all that clear stuff comes out. its like only i pee it out, and its a little bit thicker, but clear. I dont know what to do, and before i tell my mom about it i want to know what it is. I am afraid its an STD or something, and when i look it up online i get a bunch of things that are like mucus plugs for pregnant people or things like How to tell when your water breaks... i am not pregnant, for i have gotten my period and we used condoms. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I believe she said her clit burned when she was eaten out or was intimate...
I don't know. To me, sounds normal. Thrush is just a yeast infection. You can buy things at the store to clear it up, like the other poster said.
Why don't you sit down and tell your mom your symptoms and see what she thinks you should do? That's a great way to get a good answer.

A
reader, anonymous, writes (17 January 2009): You say it burns a little and you have thick discharge. Can also cause swelling. Sounds like thrush, which can be caused by lots of things such as wearing sanitry towels, tight trousers or synthetic knickers, or from being too roughly handled down below... There's loads of things that cause it, and sometimes there's no reason at all and it just happens. Good news is, it's dead easy to get rid of if you don't leave it to get too bad. You can buy stuff from your local pharmacy (Canesten or Vagisil cream) it'll cost you say a fiver. Alternatively you could go to the doctor, and ask for a prescription. That's if it is thrush. Let's hope it is because it only takes about a week to get rid of. Good luck!

Whatever it is, you should go and talk to your doctor... the longer you wait the harder it can become to clear up and it may have repercussions on your ability to have children later in life.
This is not a terrible situation, it may feel that way but I can promise you that you are not the only person who has had to deal with something like this, so, go and see a doctor and the chances are they'll give u some antibiotics to take for a short time and everything will be ok :)

To me, it sounds like vaginal discharge. Not an std. If it was an std, you would have other symptoms. A foul odor. It wouldn't be clear, it would be a strange color like green or yellow. It would burn when you pee. Your vagina may itch.
I think these people are over reacting to something normal and making it into something its not.
If you want some reassurance, tell your mom you would like to see a doctor for a pap smear.

Don't listen to the male poster. Seriously. He doesn't have a vagina and, apparently, doesn't know a thing about them...
It's just normal vaginal discharge. I'm a year older than you and I get it too. Don't worry, kay?
p.s. I found something in the male poster's post that I don't want you to listen to either:
"At your age, you definitely do not have the sex education or even general education necessary to be doing the things you're doing..."
This man does not know you, and therefore cannot make judgements about you. I, personally, knew most everything about sex by age 13, due to sex ed classes and research. Actually, just disregard his entire post.
Good luck :]

Hunny, its vaginal discharge. I wouldn't listen to the MALE responder. I don't think he has a clue about vaginas, saying he isn't a proud owner of one...
And that small little bump is your clit. Now, is there intense inching? Is there a smell? If not, then I wouldn't worry... Don't let the other reader freak you out. To me, as a woman, it sounds as if it is normal vaginal discharge. Since it is clear. If it was green or yellow and had a strong smell, then I would worry.

reader, anonymous, writes (14 January 2009): This is verified as being by the original poster of the questionwell we used a condom and i dont think it ripped or anything, and people are saying that its normal for this, like mommy. No its not painful-- kinda itchy, but i am not sure if its part of my clit, but there is a little bump on the top of it... its REALLY small, but i can feel it there. I do have a high tolerance for pain, so i mean nothing to me is really painful. i have been wearing pantie liners tho, so that it keeps from getting my thongs all gross. If its not treated, and i dont tell my mom, is there something i can do to make it go away or over the counter meds i could take that would help?

What you're describing sounds an awful lot like a sub-clinical (You're not feeling any symptoms--symptoms being things you feel like pain, itching, etc.; but you're showing signs--signs being things that can be observed, measured, tested, etc.) case of an STD that's causing a discharge. Even though it's not a colorful discharge--yellow, greenish, greenish-yellow, brownish, etc.--it's still a discharge. I'd go to either your private doctor or a public health center and get tested for gonorrhea, syphillis, and all of the other STDs that people would rather not think about but that are out there in ever-increasing numbers nevertheless. At your age, you definitely do not have the sex education or even general education necessary to be doing the things you're doing without even knowing the possible consequences. GET TO A DOCTOR AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!!!!

Its just vaginal discharge. Completely normal. It usually starts around your age. Don't worry. Its normal. Every woman has vaginal discharge. You will begin to notice that at different times of the month, it will take on different textures and shades. The only time you should be alarmed is if it takes on a strong foul odor, a fishy smell. Is dark in color, like green. Or if there is a sudden increase in white discharge accompanied with itching. All are signs of possible infections. That's when you should see a doctor.
