I'm 14 years old and a female. My skin is actually very pale, but when I blush my face and arms turn bright red. Now it is becoming a problem and my face gets red all the time. When I'm talking to someone, when someone says my name, even if they aren't talking to me or about me, and when I walk into a room. It was so embarrassing today because I was talking to my female teacher and my face got bright red. I try to solve the problem by breathing slowly to calm myself. It doesn't work, and I absolutely hate it! What is going on with me? This has been happening since the day my ex asked me out and now it hasn't stopped...

SaphiraGold16 agony auntI have exactly the same problem but it gets better as you get older, you get less embarressed about things and so you don't blush as much.

Gridrebel agony auntWell, it is kind of like an anxiety attack of the skin. However, as it is a physical reaction to a psychological state, then mental is how you need to deal with it. Instead of fighting it, accept it. Go with it instead of against it. When you feel it coming on, think to yourself something like: "I know my skin will turn red, it will only be for a few seconds and then it will be over it. I will go on and so will life. It is temporary." As you practice, you could think more like "oh brother, here comes a bother, good thing I am bigger and better than this irksome little irritation." It is kind of like nervous persperation in a way. The more you think about it and worry about it, the more you actually "make" it happen. Also, try and put yourself in what you might consider "sensitive" situations so you can "harden off" or de-sensitize yourself. Lastly and no offense, you are obsessed with yourself and the impact of yourself on others. Change your focus to others and it might help.
