Ah I think these people should give it the test of time, and then in 50 years or so, say 'Oh yes, that girl Alison/Janey Mac/Agnes was unforgettable...' What would anyone care then anyway, least of all you? And if you were that unforgettable wouldn't he want to be married to/with you, and then how could he forget about you cos you'd be there all the time..... It's a catch 22.
How can he predict now though who will remain in his mind and who will be a distant memory? No doubt he thinks you're SSSSSSSSSSSpecial - That's what you are, so near or far...lala lalaaaaaaaaaa. Sorry losing it there, scuase me.
My Aunt is a lively, fit, 80 year old, she has seen it all before, she says the only things different now are the names of who's doing it. Her advice: Take what anyone says and divide it by a thousand. But watch what they do, actions speak louder than words, actions show the character.

Some guys say things like that because they are sincere, and possibly being silly at the same time. Some guys do it half-heartedly. Some guys don't really mean it. Some guys just like to talk crap.
