He has been saying we must get married, he can't wait for me to be his wife and how wonderful our relationship is and how we must be together forever but mostly after he's had a few drinks and when he is not drinking he will hardly touch on the subject although still tells me he loves me and is affectionate. If I try to talk to him about marriage and actually try to get some idea of a plan going when he is sober he will say yes to ideas but won't commit to a date for the engagement or a time frame, he always says he has a few things to sort out first like finances which is true because things are a bit tight there for him at the moment.Do I believe what he says or is it just silly drinking talk?I would like to marry him but I also need to know where we're going and when.

Never take literally anything people say when they are drunk- particularly in reference to love or money or other serious stuff.
Plenty of people when they are drunk go all political and come up with ingenious and generally violent plans to overturn their government and set things straight in their nation- would you go press charges for conspiracy ?
