I shave, I'm twelve and i use a proper razor. It does't hurt and hardly ever cuts, even when it does you don't feel it, but if you feel worried about it then ask someone who has more experiance, use a safety razor, hair removing cream or wax. It's normal to be scared or anxious about shaving but you have to tell your mum at some point. If your scared too then use one of the ones i suggested but the proper razors are the best to get rid of hairs. If your a bit anxious to use it the rub soap on the part you want to shave and use the razor on a LITTLE part of it. Try it out and see if it hurts for yourself. the only way it would hurt by using a proper razor is if the part of the body you wanted to shave wasn't wet. DO NOT DRY SHAVE!!!! It doesn't hurt too much but i does hurt and it's bad for your skin. And if it rains and it touches your shaved bit then it will sting!!! Good Luck babe

its basically wen u feel ready.we all mature at different stages, so there is no set age! if u are starting to get hair in unwanted places that doent necissarily mean that u have to shave it off right away. when u first start to get hair it is very pale and fine. dont be in a rush to start shaving just because ur friends are doing it because trust me once u do start shaving the hairs grow back twice as thick as twice as dark and it is never ending!

But if u feel that u dont want this hair in certain places and u feel u r ready then do it, but dont be affraid to talk to ur mum about it because she was in ur position at one point and she will want to help u.

I come from a very hairy family, and am pretty hirsute myself.

I would recommend holding off from shaving for as long as possible, as once you've started, the hair will begin to grow back thicker and stronger in response.

I am sorry i can not give you an age, but my daughter is 14 and asked me the same question last week. I said as it was the winter there is no need, but we will talk again in the summer. Once you start no turning back.

You have to be honest to yourself, why do you want to do it. If one of the reasons is that your friends do it then think again. We are all different and do things at different ages. Maybe you could see out the winter and think again in the summer. Or try plucking up the courage and ask mum ,she may help you never know. Once you break the ice with us its so much easier to ask us more questions. Good luck, Holly x
