What's the crack with this 37 yr old guy?

Ok whats the crack with this 37 yr old guy. He's been a friend from the pub i go in for the last 3 months. I went to his for coffee and a chin wag a week ago after he invited me. Basically see him as a friend but wouldn't say no to more if i got to know him better and we clicked. He has told me he likes me, but is worried about someone else in the pub that likes me, even though i have told that guy we will never be more than mates. This guy i'm on about txt most days to say hi, and has rung a couple of times for a chat since i went there for coffee. In all honesty i havent contacted him first. Couple of days ago when he rang, after half hour he said he had to go for a bit cuz he had txt on his phone to reply to, but would ring back, which he did half hour later. It seems he's the resident agony uncle apparently. Today i get a txt saying im free for a cuppa later if you want so i said ok what time are you free? He said 6ish so i said ok will pop over about 6. Get a txt from him at 5 saying guy in the pub has problems so is chatting so he might be home a bit later than we said. I said ok txt when your home. Gone 6 comes and im showered and ready, heard nothing, then decided to txt him and say a mate popped over will have to take a rain check and will speak soon.
