Unfortunately i have no idea what to get her. I asked advice from my other friends, all the guys said flowers, necklace, and so forth. but all the girls said to get her a cd of her favorite band, or something of that nature to show i listen to her. So what is the right way to go? what should i get her?

as a girl i think u should get her some thing she like.so if she like music cds and stuff, if she likes sport something sporty,, make a card,or if u wanna tell her u like her but dont no how to tell her give her jewlery and flowers and a hand made card, but if u think she dosent like you in that way or if u guys break up and it might afect your relationship so if u dont want that to happen give her some thing she likes if u really dont no get her a voucher but u have to get her a little something with that other wise she will think u dont no her.

Make her a card! With photos on it, or with a private joke that only you and your friend would understand. Thats an understated way to show you care enough to put effort in. As long as you don't make it smushy then it won't be too lovey-dovey.
As for the present, I'd go for the CD. The girls who know you both are the best to listen to. They know what they'd want if they were her.

I agree with the other readers, jewelry is too personal. You could hedge your bet and get her the CD and bring along a single red rose with it... If she smiles at the rose, it might just be the opening to something more than just friendship.

id definitely go for getting her something that shows her you listen, but not something too personal. cd's, vouchers for her fave shops, etc are a really good idea. jewellery is defo too personal and is only something that a boyf would buy. but she'll appreciate the fact that you put in the effort

If she reads, you could get her some books by her favourite author. Jewelry is a bit too personal and only for later in the relationship. Flowers are too. So i would go with the cd.
take care
