I am 18yo, and it's the end of June, and I start college in August. I am broke as hell, and in 1 week I have to pay for my car insurance, gas and phone bill. My parents are no help to me, all they do is causing me to stress even more. I can't live anymore. All my friends have their life, and I just can't even be with them, all because of money. Summer that was suppose to be my best summer in my life, has become my worst summer ever. What should I do?

I think it's pretty normal for people at your age to feel broke and at wits' end. Me, for example. I quit my previous university to pursue another school and now I fail to get it. The tuition fee is around 20 grand. I feel extremely regretful and stupid, burdensome to my family... They still help me but that's what makes me feel guilty and disappointed in myself... Can't really help you out, sorry. Good luck to you ~

Hello Mr Incredible. Usually when people hit the wall...which happens a lot you know. They go to family for help. Either to parents or grandparents. Aunts, uncles ect. Thats what we are all there for. A safety net for when things go wrong...which they invariable do at times. Its just life im afraid. Many people are struggling at the moment. Theres no shame in it. Ask around any family members and see who can bail you out short term. Ask at college if theres a fund that can help you. Go to your local benefits office and see what you might be entitled to. Even though you left your last job they may be able to help. Getting your bills paid is your first priority. Maybe store your car somewhere until you can afford to insure it again. If you cant afford college this autumn, its not a biggy. Really it ISNT. I know a newly qualified doctor and two social workers. They didnt go straight into further education immediately after leaving school, because they all found themselves in situations like yours. It didnt stop them...just delayed them. So ease up on yourself. You probably felt you had everything planned out and it will suck that it isnt working out how you imagined. But you have to accept things wont always go according to plan and there will always be others who seem to be doing better. So concentrate on finding work for now. Apply for everything and anything. And getting the bills paid. Live up to your name and dont let a few set backs beat you. All the best x
