A female reader, Lotsalove. United States +, writes (27 July 2010):

Lotsalove. agony auntFirst of all you need to elaborate - What is the content of the texts? Are they general chat or more? Has he replied to them? He's entitled to his privacy i.e not having to show you everything he does, but keeping something private such as texting his ex wife is a no. The fact that he's denied it too, should definetely make you weary.

I would keep an eye on it for now, see if he's being secretive with his phone, actually with anything. Just watch his behaviour. Is he treating you more differently? Does he seem distant? If you notice a change in him, it's best to ask him whats up and reveal that you saw the texts. If he denies it more, you need to leave.
