writes: does anyone know what may be wrong with my periods? i started them a few months after my 13th birthaii and i was 15 in may. so i started over a year ago and i have come on every single month on the 17th guarenteed. come on on the 17th and im off by the 20th but they have recently started going weird. i was on for 8 days. then came off for 2 week then on for 10 days then off for a week n then back on for 6 days and have not been on at all now for 2 months. its starting to bother me. i was thinking about going on the pill but and my mum is fine with that idea but i wondered if theres any need. should i go to a doctor or will it soon be fine?

Same thing happend to me and then it stoped all together.
I went to the doc and found out that it IS NOT DANGEROUS-
And I did go on the pill. it made me feel much better, the periods were far more comfortable even

reader, anonymous, writes (5 November 2007): I had the same issues when I was first getting my period. I got it at 14 and it didn't settle into a routine till I was 18. It varies for different people, but if it's causing you pain or it's too heavy, you should definitely see a doctor.

I think you are a bit young to be going on the pill and i cannot believe that your mum is ok with the idea. Period can be very eratic at all ages but especially in the beginning when your body is still developing. Go and get checked out.
