person12345 agony auntAt your age and since you're sexually active you should be getting annual pap smears. When you go in you can always ask. But I agree with the cervix "diagnosis." The texture of your cervix should feel, like the end of your nose, or some other cartilage area (except wet and slimy). Frequently you will feel like there is a strange pressure on the bottom of your stomach if you press on it. Some people say it hurts to touch, others not so much.

A female reader, fishdish United States +, writes (25 September 2010):

fishdish agony auntWHAT! It's not a cyst. It's your cervix! At the nd of the vaginal canal is the base of your uterus, called the cervix. When you have a finger in there it should feel sort of like a tip of a finger or a marble. Here are some (drawn) diagrams. sometimes people's cervixs are very sensitive to pain, I don't know the reason too much for this in terms of nerve endings, but that also explains why getting paps (ie. your cervix swabbed) can feel just terrible! for other people, cervical stimulation can be orgasmic (freaks! :P) anyway i guess you never can be too sure so if you want to check with a GYn it may make you feel better, but I'm 90% pretty sure this is what's going on. http://www.drstandley.com/stds_cervicalcancer.shtml

It could be a cyst. You should see your GYN to have it checked out.
