Right i am 16 years old and a girl and i want to know what is the maximum age limit i can go for before people think its weird.

Because i know this guy who is 22 nothing has happened but he is soooooo nice (:

Accountable agony auntI dunno, I was with a 20 year old when I was 16 and we're still together, and don't find it weird at all. I think its more about personality than age, and don't worry about how other people will perceive it :) but remember, family and friends are likely to be trying to offer you advice rather than judge you, so dont burn your bridges by getting angry with them if they do say anything unfavourable about your dating older people.

If both of you feel comfortable with the age gap then you shouldn't let it hold you back.

To quote Mark Twain: "Age is an issue of mind over matter. If you don't mind, it doesn't matter.” :)

A female reader, creamsauce United States +, writes (14 October 2009):

The age difference shouldn't be the main thing, it should be the difference in maturity. The biggest problem with age differences in relationships are priorities - you will almost always have different priorities from a person if you're not in the same age group. You'll want different things. So instead of worrying about the 'maximum age limit', you might want to deal with compatibility first.

Okay, this was long and I'm sorry. If you don't care about all of that, then I'll honestly tell you that some people might view 16 and 22 as a inappropriate. But at the same time, some people will see it as completely normal. Four years apart is generally the most accepted, but times have changed, so go figure.
