I have an implant (Implanon) in my upper left arm, it's as effective as male condoms when they're used correctly, less than 1 in 1000 women that use the implant get pregnant each year.

A
reader, anonymous, writes (26 October 2008): I personally like the depo shot. I have been on it for almost four years while being with the same man and even without using a condom i haven't ever been pregnant. However I did use a condom the first 6 months to give the shot a chance to go into full effect. After I stopped having my period i felt safe enough to stop wearing a condom.Good Luck!

Well, abstinence is the best way not to get a girl pregnant, but to those who aren't trying to be monks but also don't want to be parents yet I've never gone wrong with a condom. Condoms do break, though. Then there's the pill, but if your girl misses one or two it raises the risk of pregnancy. There's the shot, but that can sometimes cause her periods to be crazy so you may not "get any" at all from that. I think the worst form of contraceptive is "pulling out." Although, it worked for me for 6+ years. If you don't know who you're going to be having sex with then use a condom.

Condom, and then the female taking the pill as well. That way you are both being responsible, and protected more than once.

A male condom. 99.98% effective if used properly.
