Hmm, lots to go over here... Whatever you do, do not wear the following: red, low cut, short, tight, spike heels. This is a recipe for disaster (it makes you look like are after something more than just a polite chat from one of the ushers.) Try aiming for conservative but not boring, and try not to go for flower patterns. (It is winter.)Second, be bold and eschew a hat. I know this church is going to be full of covered heads, but DON'T bite the bullet. You are under thirty and under no obligation to look like Hyacinth Bucket and also consider the fact that it will be a royal pain in the rear to remember where it was last placed at the reception later when you may have tippled a few cocktails; besides, you are young and have shiny hair: flaunt it a little! Get your hair done if you can before the event. It pays to look nice and neat.Third, in regards to the color of the dress: consider your hair color and complexion. (I am going to take the guess that you have light skin for intensive purposes.) Lavender is a wonderful color for black hair, Redheads look great in an icy blues or coral pink, blondes do well in hunter green or a dark red, and brown hair looks fairly good in a light yellow. (If you are looking for dress type, pick the one that goes best with your figure.)Last, wear a necklace but nothing showy, a nice set of pearls will do. A small purse and a pair of broken in heels is also a great way to go; there will be dancing after the wedding.

Wear a dress, for weddings i always recommend a dark colour but not black, usually purple is perfect, not too bold....if you dont want to wear a dress then i'd have to say wear a pretty top and a skirt--whites/creams & pinks x p.s you might get away with trousers but they cant be black, it's gonna have to be a light colour and still you'd look so much better in skirt or dress.

I would wear a dress with matching bag and shoes.
