I then responded 'no,i feel like a fool asking you this now i just wanted to know how you felt' she then replied 'y' i wasnt sure if she meant y did i feel stupid or y did i want to know how she felt. i thought her reply was a little short and to the point so instead of probing her and asking to which subject was she asking 'y' i kept my answer short and too the point-'i don't know' Then she did not reply. And i havent heard from her since. What does this mean? Thanks guys.

Well if you were discontent with it, then you should try to remedy that. Obviously she wasn't happy with the outcome either. Her reply was short because it's a little awkward talking to an ex. Your answer wasn't "short and to the point" it was just a meaningless answer.

well you should have asked what she was saying "Y" to. By saying 'I dont know' sort of ended the convo, don't you think?

Well, I think you should've been more specific, you should've asked her what she meant by "y" and then she would've replied and you two would probably atleast be friends again, I think you should text her back and be friendly, just say "hey" than see if she texts back and if she does just talk to her, ask her questions, ask her how her day has been, ask her anything!!!!!!!!!
HOPE THIS HELPS!!!!!!!!!!!
