Yes this is used in text messages but it is not actually all that common, when someone says MXM on a message it usually means the clicking of a persons tongue to show attitude. To explain it a little bit better if you say to your boyfriend for example I really wish you would show me attention he could write back MXM as in to say yeah whatever!!

Hello dear,
well mxm depends on what context your boyfriend was using..you didn't quiet specify as in is was it by text or chatting online? because really it can mean anything. for example , if it was by text or chatting it means according the urban dictionary *The clicking of one's tongue to show attitude. Used in texts or online.* or it could just mean MAXIMUM is simpler terms..does it help? if nt..ca u just specify as to what context is uses MXM?
