It means he's a switched on responsible lad. I'd be FAR more worried if you got back to his place, got to THAT point and then he said "Oh no sorry, I don't have any thing to use, let's carry on anyway."
If he's dating you then OF COURSE he's going to have them as he would NEVER want to get you into bed after wanting you all night only to find out that you couldn't do anything because of pregnancy and STIs.

reader, anonymous, writes (23 January 2009): I agree with what the first comment has to say. I mean I keep condoms in my bedroom and sometimes on my person when I go to see my girlfriend. This is not because I am definately going to have sex with her but it's just to make sure that if things decide to take a romantic detour I am protecting her from having kids. If a guy didn't have condoms when he was going to have sex with you then he is not worth bothering about (unless he forgot he was going to have sex which I wouldn't bileve because sex is a pretty big thing in a guys mind)

reader, anonymous, writes (23 January 2009): I think you maybe slightly overreacting no offense, having condoms is a precautionary and maybe they are just around in preparation for you coming!if your in a relationship with this guy, and obv having sex with him then i think there would be other factors that show he would be cheating, such as change in personality, lack of interest etc.Dont stress about the condoms.

 there's no certain way to tell if he's having sex with other women, unless of course you find their clothing around his place.
maybe he just wants to be safe, in case something happens heat of the moment.
i wouldn't worry about it too much, unless he's trying to pressure you into doing something with him.
but just in case he might be seeing other women, use those condoms he carries.
