Its actually means exactly what it says ALL IS FAIR, in love and war.
It means that you need to fight for the one you love. It is comparing love to war kind of.
Sorry its really hard to explain. haha but i hope it helped!

I know what it means but it is one of those things that is kind of hard to directly define, so I looked it up.
"All is fair in love and war" - Behavior that is unpleasant or not fair is acceptable during an argument or competition.
The cliché, "All is fair in love and war," implies that people can suspend the law or the rules in special circumstances. Like being in love.
The second one is the one I thought it meant but couldn't quite put it into words as eloquently.
Hope this helps you!

the way i look at it is that if you are in love with someone then you do anything to protect your relationship. You fight for it. no matter if its problems between the two of you or intrusion on someone eles that wants what you have. "Alls fare in love and war"
