Vaseline has been used for decades in hospitals for enemas, suppositories, anal exams and the like. USP grade is fine. KY or water based is better, but vaseline is not necessarily bad. In my experience, a lot of the stuff marketed in the adult market is not packaged under GMP conditions, and you may actually encounter more risk with a sex lube than with KY or vaseline. Buy something sold by a reputable company (J&J, etc) over something sold by a sex toy manufacturer.

Do use lube if you're doing anal, but if you intend on using a condom, be aware that it vaseline/oil based lube will break down the material.

I completely disagree with mishmash ALWAYS, I repeat ALWAYS use lubrication when attempting to have anal sex - you could do SERIOUS damage to her if you try without - or with something inappropriate. Buy some anal lubricant (you can buy it online it embarrassment is the issue)

Vaseline and oil based lubricants degrade the latex material in condoms. Do not use these lubricants if you intend on protecting yourself against pregnancy or STIs.
Honestly, foreplay is the best lubricant. Go slow and take your time and you might not need any at all.

You should buy lubricant that is meant to be used for sex, not any of what you mentioned. Use a condom as well, and take it slow. You can use saliva if you do not have a way to get proper lubricant.

If you're going in bare back which I'd only recommend if you've both had sexual health screenings bio oil may be a slightly wiser option just as an option. Pop to the chemists and get some proper lubricant it'll allow you to enjoy anal sex without the risk of pain or STIs.

It would be best to use a water based lubricant such as KY jelly or something similar. Vaseline is not approved for internal use, neither are most lotions.
